Nestled in the heart of the spectacular Northern Alps, and emerged in nature, Hida Takayama is blessed with the pristine environment and the quality of craftmen, known as "Hida no Takumi".
The Hida Takayama region was selected as an optimal environment for the manufacturing of drugs at Taiyo's Takayama Plant. Our goal is to contribute to national healthcare by utilizing the best, newest and most advanced facilities in Japan to manufacture and supply generic drugs.
At Taiyo, the manufacture and supply of high-quality drugs that improve human health is attributable to the natural environment. In the spirit of the Environment Creation Convention (ECC) that we signed with the governments of Gifu Prefecture and the City of Takayama, Taiyo is committed to manufacturing activities that create a healthy and pleasant natural environment.
1. Environmental Management System (EMS)
The Takayama Plant has special defined departments for managing the environment so that systems that are capable of "caring for the environment" are maintained.
2. Compliance
In part of environmental business management, we are committed to meeting the numerical targets of the ECC as well as complying with the environmental regulations of the Government of Japan and the government of Gifu Prefecture.
3. Reducing our Environmental Footprints
We are committed to set, regularly review and continually improve on numerical targets related to the promotion of energy and resource conservation, waste reduction and recycling, the appropriate management of chemical materials etc... that are part of the research and manufacturing activities conducted at the Takayama Plant.
4. Employee Training
Through the environmental education programs, we increase the awareness of our employees on environment conservation.
5. Living in Harmony with Society
Taiyo considers itself to be a corporate citizen, and therefore we cooperate in environmental conservation activities conducted by the local community. We also publicize the environmental conservation activities in which we are currently engaged, so as to enhance mutual understanding between Taiyo and the local community.
